In addition to countless hours in the gym, he studied during off hours, and was honored to receive a full Academic Presidential Scholarship, as well as a partial music scholarship to play clarinet in the UNM symphony.

After receiving a BS degree in Biology and dual minors in chemistry and music performance, he attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1999. He was recently nominated and then acted as the head of continuing education for the Spokane District Dental Society.

His main interests are his children, skiing, fishing, fitness, music, and the outdoors in general.
